Restore function with a practical approach to occlusion, dentures and implant retention.

Learning objectives

  • Apply fundamental occlusal principles to restorative and prosthodontic treatment.
  • Understand support, stability and retention in complete and partial dentures.
  • Apply predictable acrylic and cobalt-chromium partial denture design principles.
  • Plan complete and immediate denture workflows.
  • Understand indications and clinical workflows for implant-retained overdentures.
  • Integrate conventional and digital denture diagnosis, design and fabrication.
  • Understand clinical applications of injectable composite techniques.

Put it into practice.

  • Analyse occlusion and clinically relevant interferences.
  • Survey diagnostic casts and evaluate undercuts.
  • Prepare occlusal and cingulum rests.
  • Prepare and assess guide planes.
  • Design a cobalt-chromium partial denture framework.
  • Take an implant-retained overdenture impression.
  • Plan two clinical cases, including denture design.
  • Complete an injectable composite exercise.
